Role: Co-Project Manager, Developer
Description: True Fitness is a leading manufacturer of commercial and residential fitness equipment the world over. After completing a site redesign just seven months prior, True Fitness realized their Web presence simply did not compete with other players in the fitness market. Mozaic approached them with concepts and a platform to create a Web site that would represent the company’s products and philosophy.
The new site has a stronger branding message plus several new features: a product comparison tool, a room planner, a warranty application and e-commerce. A dealer extranet was also included in the project that allows ordering of parts and validation of customer warranty information.
The biggest hurdle with the project was an accelerated schedule of less than three months. Content was to arrive late and design was not completed before programming had to start. This approach caused a lot of changes at the end of production. Besides that challenge, the project did launch in time to meet the client’s deadline.
Responsibilities: As an employee of Mozaic I wrote the initial proposal that was integral in being awarded the project. Later as a contractor I created timelines, the scope document and site map. During production I further organized site structure and product data, coordinated tasks between designers and developers, optimized graphics and created all HTML that incorporated ASP.NET user controls into the Web pages, and developed a dynamic Flash news component.
