Technologies: Flash, XML, PHP, MySQL, Graphics
Role: Project Manager, Flash Developer
Description: This was a fun and challenging project. Users can create a myriad of tuxedo ensemble combinations in a simple step-by-step process. They can also find retail locations and e-mail a report of their selections.
All photography was created from scratch. I directed the photographer on shooting the garments. Every item had to be photographed individually with the same perspective in order to keep the garments in registration within the application. We shot one color of each garment and created other colors by adjusting them in Photoshop. Images were optimized as PNG files to preserve transparency and converted to SWF files for dynamic importing.
All data is stored in an XML file that is imported at run-time into the Flash application. All 800+ images are stored in a file structure and imported into the Flash application as needed, based on user choices. This method allows for fast download times, and easy editing/adding of new garment programs.
Responsibilities: Met with client to gather requirements and explore options. Maintained client communication throughout the project lifecycle. Provided cost estimate. Wrote the proposal and scope documentation. Researched alternative technical solutions. Planned entire project. Coordinated production between photography, imaging, and Web departments. Outsourced PHP development. Developed XML schema and programmed ActionScript. Retouched garment photography. Managed quality control.
